SFG visited Senegal and South Africa to get perspectives of Africans countries on a potential Global Water Security Initiative.

In South Africa, Ambika Vishwanath met with high ranking government officials and leading think tanks including the Economic Advisor to the President, Director of International Relations and Legal Head, Department of Water Affairs, the CEO of Water Research Commission, Mbeki Foundation and others.

In Senegal, Ambika Vishwanath met with senior government officials, Members of Parliament, former Ministers and leading academics in the field of transboundary water cooperation.

Both Senegal and South Africa have effective transboundary water cooperation with their neighbours, and play major roles in the water arena in Africa.
